DON'T JUMP ON THE FOOLS WAGON!!

Some people would think that being accountable makes you appear weak but no, not being accountable shows you are not only weak but insecure.

When I started my current job, I was fond of going late to work because my cab would come late and I would be okay with it knowing I had 15 minutes of grace. So I would arrive work at 9:10 AM and I'll be feeling like a good worker until one day, my boss jokingly said that some documents should not be left in my care because I won't even be in early. That was a joke to them, it seemed so since they all laughed about it but as a person of integrity, I felt really embarrassed so I decided to sit down and re-evaluate my work life.

First, I sat my cab down and told him if he cannot get to me at the agreed time which was 8:30 sharp, I'll terminate his contract. So that part was sorted.

Then I set my alarm to time my every move and I was diligent in proving myself and earning their trust.

Same thing goes for a relationship. Once you become accountable, it becomes easy for your partner to have full trust and confidence in you. If someone called your partner and said "I just saw your husband or wife at  Mr Biggs, he or she should be able to say "Oh yea, she / he stopped by  to get some bread for the house " not "You sure say na my wife you see? She tell me say she dey go see her friend for Utako".

That one act can make your partner start double checking if they are really with who you say you are.

And same goes for parenting.

Do not tell your child that you will always read them a bed time story or take them to the park on Saturdays when you have no intention of doing that.
Soon enough they will be like "leave mom alone, that's how she use to talk". Oh my world!!

Now I think we all see why accountability is key in gaining and sustaining trust and it also makes you a reliable person.

Be accountable henceforth.
