SHOWING NEGATIVE EMOTIONS IS TOTALLY NORMAL AND HEALTHY.

This idea of perfection pasted all over the place is just not right.

Our society today, through the wonders of consumer culture and hey-look-my-life-is-cooler-than-yours social media has, is raising a whole new generation of people who believe that gave been pushed to believe dealing with or expressing negative emotions like anxiety, fear, guilt, sadness etc is totally not okay.

I mean, if you look at your social media handles (Facebook feeds, instagram posts, twitter) every body seems to be living their best lives, showing off perfection and making you think that your life sucks more that you thought it did.

According to Mark Manson " the desire for more positive experience is itself a negative experience and paradoxically, the acceptance of one's negative experience is itself a positive experience.

Now here is the trick.

I know we have been made to believe we must and should attain perfection in school, at home, in our work place, business, relationship as if we are robots without emotions. All them motivational speakers telling us to look in the mirror and tell ourselves we are beautiful. I mean why do I need to go confirm what I already know from a freaking mirror?

There is nothing abso- freaking-lutely wrong with feeling like a loser sometimes, or ugly when you have a break out on your face, or lazy when you feel like getting more rest or lame when you can not solve the puzzle faster than your friend. IT IS NORMAL!!!

Next time you feel some type-a-way, express it and get on with life.

Remember,  no one cares so stop feeling like your fake perfection pays anyone's bills lol.

Love,

V. Effik
